NetGalley’s Spotlight Book Category!

I’m excited to share that The Planting Festival has been featured in NetGalley’s Spotlight Category!

With over 20 reviews so far, the feedback from readers has been incredibly valuable. I’m especially grateful to those who took the time to share thoughtful comments. Many reviewers loved the illustrations and connected with the story — which has been wonderful to hear!

One common note was that the book felt a bit long for the intended age group. I completely agree. That’s why I’ve introduced a three-chapter structure, giving young readers natural stopping points and making the pacing more manageable.

Another piece of feedback focused on the text density on some pages. I’ve listened closely and revised the book by weaving more of the backstory into dialogue, rather than relying on narration. In fact, I’ve worked to remove the narrator entirely, allowing the characters to carry the story themselves.

The editing process has been eye-opening — and honestly, one of the most rewarding parts of this journey. I’ve learned so much from the ARC reviews, and I’m incredibly thankful for the experience and insights.

If you’re on NetGalley and haven’t had a chance to check it out yet, now’s the perfect time!
